We tend to look for dramatic proof of love, but security is built through tiny pieces of evidence repeated until the body believes them. Two minutes and a little coffee man is an absurdly good return on investment.

I loved this story and the sweet drawings. Yes he is a clever artist! The repetition of that moment over many days, weeks, years is a lovely demonstration of building secure attachment. I'll be carrying this idea with me today, thinking of ways to fortify my loves (self, kids, others) with small supportive rituals.

Charming, endearing, and so good I shared it with my own Coffee Man husband.

Your cute drawings from him are an adorable touch. Thanks for sharing some of the images. You describe that sweet little nugget of joy you get to carry all day from it so well! It really is so fundamental.

Yay for java, but really, yay for the routines that show us where our anchors are, the ones that keep us nestled in place.
